Chandigarh [India], September 29: In a decisive step to shape the future of urban development and infrastructure, the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRICS CCI)- Chandigarh Chapter organized its flagship forum, “InfraCon 2025” at Chandigarh. The high-level event gathered an eminent mix of policymakers, real estate leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs to deliberate on sustainable growth, cutting-edge technology, and financing models for large-scale infrastructure. Against the backdrop of India’s rapid urbanization and growing global competitiveness, the seminar offered a critical platform to share ideas, challenges, and strategies to reimagine infrastructure.
Shri Aman Arora, Hon’ble Minister of Information & Public Relations, New & Renewable Energy Sources, and Housing & Urban Development, Government of Punjab graced the event as the esteemed Chief Guest. Keynote Speaker for the event Shri Parneet Sachdev, Hon’ble Chairman, HRERA Panchkula, emphasized the importance of robust regulatory frameworks. “HRERA is taking the lead in integrating Artificial Intelligence into our operations,” said Mr. Sachdev, highlighting how technology can enhance transparency and efficiency in real estate governance.
Mr. Deepak Shukla, Regional President, BRICS CCI (Chandigarh Chapter) outlined Chandigarh’s evolving role as a hub for trade, policy, and innovation. “The vision behind this conference was not just to host another event but to create a space where ideas could meet action, and where conversations could turn into partnerships.,” said Mr. Shukla.
Mr. Sameep Shastri, Vice Chairman, BRICS CCI, highlighted the Chamber’s role in fostering long-term infrastructure dialogue. “BRICS countries have a unique opportunity to learn from one another. By sharing experiences, successes, and lessons in infrastructure, urban planning, and real estate, we can accelerate progress, adopt best practices, and avoid repeating mistakes,” remarked Mr. Shastri.
Adding momentum to the forum, Mr. Prann Sharma, President, BRICS CCI Healthcare Vertical; Executive Director – Strategy, BRICS CCI & President, Shree Baidyanath Ayurved Bhawan, delivered Special Remarks, emphasizing sustainable urban growth. He proposed a simple pledge: “One Tree, One Unit.” For every housing or infrastructure unit developed, a tree will be planted, fostering greener, healthier cities and reminding us to balance growth with nature.” said Mr. Sharma.
